Biography

John Denton is a director of Australian-owned international architecture and urban design practice Denton Corker Marshall, which he founded with Bill Corker and Barrie Marshall in 1972. The three were awarded the Australian Institute of Architects’ Gold Medal in 1996. The practice has completed a number of significant international projects, including the Australian Embassy in Jakarta and the Australian Pavilion in Venice, as well as many important Australian projects including Melbourne Museum and the Hunter Medical Research Institute in New South Wales. John was the Victorian Government Architect between 2006 and 2008 and is currently on the Victorian Government’s Victorian Design Review Panel.
