Info

Photographer John Gollings has recorded the progress of modern architecture in Australia and throughout the world for 50 years. He is considered one of the world’s leading architectural photographers. In this world-first preview, Gollings will present a suite of awe-inspiring photographic images of ancient cities, landscapes and buildings from across the Asia Pacific, including China, India and Cambodia.

In Gollings’ words: “Over the past 50 years I have documented a number of intriguing and enchanting ancient cities and buildings in the Asia Pacific. They have rivalled any modern city for technical achievement, aesthetics, functional separation, public realm facilities and architectural design. Most of my work as an architectural photographer has never been seen – it is of ancient architecture in deserts and jungles where I return year after year for an orgy of self-flagellation and recrimination over lost images and intransigent buildings.”
