Info

Architecture embraces natural, indigenous and cultural heritage to make a significant contribution to the urban life and development of contemporary Brisbane. This landscape has in turn provided an enduring source of stimulus for local and visiting artists.

Scenes of our City, a selection of works from the Museum of Brisbane Collection, present urban scenes inspired by Brisbane’s architectural history by twenty-one artists including Vida Lahey, Noel McKenna and Margaret Olley. These artists have observed the life of the city with fascination and inadvertently captured its physical changes. The selection of artworks reveals the emergence of Brisbane as a confident new world city and honours the buildings and settings that have shaped it.

Free entry, no bookings required.
