Info
Eisenmenger House is a charming and attractive example of 1960s modernist architecture and interior design, designed by architect Barry Walduck and built in 1961 for the Eisenmenger family. The current owners, Chris Osborne and Susan Bennett, purchased the house in 2002 and quickly began a major project to restore the house to its original state, basing their restoration work on a newspaper photograph from the early 1960s.
Enjoy a welcome drink on the poolside deck before touring this modest International Style mid-century home. The tour will be followed by an architecture film night, curated by Chris Osborne, publisher of Australian Modern. Eisenmenger House is a firm favourite of Brisbane Open House – it allows us a unique glimpse into 1960s life and design, with its modernist Queensland architectural style and cool interior, featuring original Australian mid-century designer furniture.
Doors open at 7 pm, followed at 7.30 pm by screenings of various international mid-century architecture themed short films.
