Info

From 30 November 2020 to 18 April 2021, experience the Sunny Side Up exhibition at Brisbane City Council's Outdoor Gallery, curated by Sarah Thomson and Alex Holt, including a number of talks, tours and engagements.

Sunny Side Up is a collection of vibrant artworks by emerging Brisbane-based contemporary artists that explore Brisbane's subtropical identity, unique physical features, and cultural atmosphere. The exhibition brings to the fore the optimism, abundance, and playful spirit of the Sunshine State.

In January 2021, Sunny Side Up artists created additional artwork outcomes as augmented reality experiences for every Outdoor Gallery location.

Brisbane City Council's Outdoor Gallery transforms Brisbane's laneways and city streets into imaginative, curious and engaging spaces. Comprising light boxes, banners, vitrines, and evening projections, the Outdoor Gallery displays art outside in city streets, instead of inside on gallery walls. Recently, the Outdoor Gallery has grown to now include art projections at Howard Smith Wharves.

Share your experience of the Outdoor Gallery exhibitions and public programs using #BNEPublicArt.

This project is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
