In this lecture, genarchitect principal Beilei Fan will use two school designs to express themes she has always been concerned about: the relationship between the environment and human life, and the meaning of architecture in the city.
About Beilei Fan
Trained in architecture and urban design in China and Germany, Beilei Fan started her architectural career at Atelier Deshaus before co-founding Genarchitects in Shanghai in 2013.
Beilei’s work has been honoured and exhibited widely. Examples include: WA Achievement Award (2016), Contemporary Chinese Architecture Exhibition at Harvard GSD (2016), Inaugural Sino-Europe Invitational Architectural Exhibition (2020), Venice Architecture Biennale (2021), Iconic Awards (2022) and DFA Awards (2022).
A visiting lecturer at Tongji University since 2018, Beilei has served as a guest critic at Tianjin University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She has been invited to attend academic symposiums and give speeches at universities and institutions that include Harvard University, the University of Hong Kong, Southeast University and PSA Shanghai.
