Burrowing in darkened archive rooms, consulting books in libraries, directing architectural conservation work on sites and, more recently, conducting analysis in laboratories are extensions of Yeo Kang Shua’s life.

Trained as an architect and architectural historian, Yeo Kang Shua’s research interest is primarily in the area of architectural conservation. He has been involved in the restoration of religious and institutional Singapore buildings, and was awarded the UNESCO Asia Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation in 2010 and 2014. One of the things that he relishes about his work is the opportunity to get to know built landscapes better.
