Liz Brogden works to advance climate action in architecture, focusing on the role of architecture education in sector-scale sustainability transitions. She believes that education research is needed to improve and develop climate literacy in architecture, not only through university programs but also through continuing professional development requirements, degree accreditation standards and pathways to registration as an architect.
Liz leads the cross-university Climate Action and Literacy in Architecture Education project, jointly funded by the Association of Architecture Schools Australasia (AASA) and the Australian Institute of Architects. She is a 2022 Churchill Fellow and has previously served on both national and state Climate Action and Sustainability committees for the Australian Institute of Architects.
